One of the latest high-end jewelry fashion trends is undoubtedly colored stones, and much of it celebrity driven. From Kate Middleton's sapphire engagement ring to Kobe Bryant's 8-carat purple diamond ring gift to his wife, Vanessa, colored stones are all the range among royalty and on the red carpet.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez:

“Bennifer” is sometimes credited for starting the latest colored diamond craze, when Ben proposed to Jennifer in 2002 with a 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring costing $1.2 million USD.

Jennifer Lopez:

Fast forward a few years and Ms. Lopez received an even larger colored diamond ring, a 14-carat fancy blue solitaire worth over 4 million dollars, given to her by husband Marc Anthony to commemorate their first wedding anniversary.

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey
